TMJ Syndrome

If you suffer from headaches, backaches, popping jaws, or depression, and doctor's can't find the cause of your pain, you may have TMJ Syndrome .  The good new is that there is a conservative, painless, drug-free cure. 

Did you know that certain kinds of headaches are caused by your teeth?  Do you often wake up with headaches?  Have you been told you grind your teeth while you sleep?  If so, a thorough evaluation of your teeth, muscles and TMJ's are inorder.  This condition can become serious but is very treatable inthe early stages.

Occlusion

Everyone wants their dentistry to last a lifetime.  While crowns and fillings do wear out with time, their longevity can be greatly increased by ensuring that the patient has a proper bite.  The way that teeth touch one another during function is called occlusion.  Proper occlusion will usually eliminate habits such as clenching and grinding which result in fractured and worn out teeth. 

Dr. Moritz is currently completing the courses at the Dawson Center and practices centric relation based dentistry.  This allows him to take a very conservative approach to establishing a perfect bite on every patient.  Although everyone can benefit from a perfect bite, it is much more critical for people who are experiencing symptoms consistent with a TMJ disorder.   These symptoms include headaches, muscular pain (both in the head and the neck) and even congestion in the ears.  Other signs of a problem are clicking in the joints and worn teeth. Even an occasional click from one of your TMJ's is a sign that something is wrong with your bite.  Teeth should NEVER show signs of wear.  Unless you eat a bowl of sand for breakfast every morning, teeth that are in proper occlusion will not wear out.

Dental Implants

Dental implants have revolutionized dentistry.  It is now possible to replace missing teeth with something that is almost as good as a natural tooth.  Implants can also be used to secure dentures and partial dentures in place.  no more adhesives!  We've recently purchased the state of the art Sirona 3-d dental cat scan machine.  High resolution 3-d images make implants safer and more predictable than ever. Dr.Moritz is a member of the International Congress of Oral Implantologists and has placed well over 1000 implants.  Why not give us a call today at 737-7400 and schedule a free sonsultation?

Dentures  

We've recently added a full service denture lab run by master dental technician Chuck Martinson. Since then, fast, high quality denture repairs have been made possible.  Dr. Moritz works closely with Chuck on every case and takes great pride inmaking exceptional dentures.  Most of the dentures we make are Geneva 2000 because we believe it is the world's best denture system. Beautiful and functional, a Geneva 2000 denture has layered porcelain teeth and can be expected to last about twice as longs as a traditional denture with plastic teeth.
